About the Event
What is the difference between a good debate and an argument? Mutual respect allows good debate about conflicting ideas and involves healthy back-and-forth with civility. Yet all of us have participated and witnessed in what began as a debate but quickly evolved into a heated argument that escalated out of control. What begins as a simple conversation, within minutes, escalates into criticism, blame, hostility, stonewalling and even violence.
The problem with arguments is…they don’t work! Unwanted arguments happen within families, between friends, among church members and at work. With some skill, you can learn to stop arguments so you can get on with solving the real concerns. Staying on track can de-escalate the problem but when one or more persons continue to argue, a different strategy is required.
The goal of this seminar is to provide the insights, principles and skills required for de-escalating tensions that often occur in relationships.…
